Impact Factor The journal Asymptotic Analysis fulfills a twofold function. It aims at publishing original mathematical results in the asymptotic theory of problems affected by the presence of small or large parameters on the one hand, and at giving specific indications of their possible applications to different fields of natural sciences on the other hand.   On the asymptotic behaviour of solutions of some nonlinear elliptic and parabolic equations. new studies have been dedicated to elliptic and parabolic problems in order to extend the knowledge to the nonlinear problems. A similar theorem can be obtained in the parabolic case. The analysis we have proposed in 3 Equation.

This book provides a comprehensive introduction to the mathematical theory of nonlinear problems described by singular elliptic equations. There are carefully analyzed logistic type equations with boundary blow-up solutions and generalized Lane-Emden-Fowler equations or Gierer-Meinhardt systems with singular nonlinearity in anisotropic media. Abstract We investigate the homogeneous Dirichlet problem for a class of second-order nonlinear elliptic partial differential equations with singular data. In particular, we study the asymptotic behaviour of the solution near the boundary up to the second order under various assumptions on the growth of the coefficients of the equation.

Differential Analysis. This lecture note covers the following topics: fundamental solutions for elliptic, hyperbolic and parabolic differential operators, method of characteristics, review of Lebesgue integration, distributions, fourier transform, homogeneous distributions, asymptotic methods. Author(s): Prof. Richard Melrose. The book presents a fine elementary introduction to the theory of elliptic and parabolic equations of second order. The precise and clear exposition is suitable for graduate students as well as for research mathematicians who want to get acquainted with this area of the theory of partial differential equations.

The monograph is well written, interesting, and surely recommended to applied mathematicians, engineers, physicists, chemists, and neuroscientists interested into analytical methods for the asymptotic analysis of elliptic and parabolic PDEs of relevance in applications.” (Paolo Musolino, zbMATH).

Asymptotic behavior of solutions to elliptic and parabolic equations with unbounded coefficients of the second orderin unbounded domains Kozono, Hideo Terasawa, YutakaAuthor: Hideo Kozono, Hideo Kozono, Yutaka Terasawa, Yuta Wakasugi.

The main result is an asymptotic representation of solutions for large t. As a corollary, it is proved that if κєL1(0,∞), then the solution behaves asymptotically as the solution to a parabolic system with time-independent coefficients.

It includes theoretical aspects as well as applications and numerical analysis. This is a reprinting of a book originally published in At that time it was the first book on the subject of homogenization, which is the asymptotic analysis of partial differential equations with rapidly oscillating coefficients, and as such it sets the stage for what problems to consider and what methods to use, including probabilistic methods.

We introduce a notion of viscosity solutions for a general class of elliptic-parabolic phase transition problems.

These include the Richards equation, which is a classical model in filtration theory. Asymptotic Analysis and Singularities: Elliptic and Parabolic PDEs and Related Problems. Advanced Studies in Pure Mathematics.

We introduce the notion of$\alpha$-parabolic quasi-concavity for functions of space and time, which extends the usual notion of quasi-concavity and the notion of parabolic quasi-cocavity introduced in [18]. Then we investigate the$\alpha\$-parabolic quasi-concavity of solutions to parabolic problems with vanishing initial datum.

Most articles published in this book, which consists of 32 articles in total, written by highly distinguished researchers, are in one way or another related to the scientific works of Herbert Amann. The contributions cover a wide range of nonlinear elliptic and parabolic equations with applications to natural sciences and engineering.

parabolic problems. As for parabolic problems, we study the questions of local and global existence, a priori estimates and universal bounds, blow-up, asymptotic be-havior of global and nonglobal solutions. The study of superlinear parabolic and elliptic equations and systems has at-tracted the attention of many mathematicians during the past.
